MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Hi, I’m Kristine
I’m the artist and teacher behind Fluffypigeon Art.
I’ve always loved being creative. Growing up surrounded by family members skilled in carpentry, ceramics, and needlepoint will do that to a girl. Then I discovered watercolor, and it opened the door to a whole new way of making art, one that eventually led me to mixed media and the teaching style I love today.
I don’t have a formal art education. I learned from artists who generously shared their knowledge through books and online classes, and I’m incredibly grateful they did. Their willingness to teach gave me the confidence to find my own creative voice, and this course is my way of paying that generosity forward.
As I painted more, I found myself reaching for more than just watercolor. Watercolor pencils, crayons, ink, and other mixed media became part of my process, adding texture, personality, and a little extra magic to every piece.
That same spirit of curiosity is what I hope you’ll find in this course. I’ll teach you the techniques I’ve learned along the way, but I’ll also encourage you to experiment, embrace the unexpected, and discover what feels true to you. Because some of the best moments in painting happen when you stop worrying about getting it perfect and start enjoying the process instead.

What my students say about me
Meggan
“Taking Kristine's watercolor class was such a fun experience. Her warm, encouraging teaching style made learning enjoyable, and she not only taught us watercolor techniques but also helped us understand the value of quality paints and paper; the extra time she spent showing me how to adjust my brush strokes gave me the confidence to create a painting I never thought I could achieve. Highly recommend!”

Sandra
“You have taught me not to panic, just keep working, adding another layer, or maybe some highlights with other media. And then it turns out to be beautiful. I am also becoming more confident in creating by adding my own touches and colors. My own style is developing.”

“I could hear your words in my head. I thought I tanked it but then kept adding the layers and it really came to life! I have so much FOMO that I’m really enjoying “cheating”, using your sketches to focus, and improving my painting skills."
